Words printed below in Bold Italic were sung during the homily.

Rejoice and be glad!
Blessed are you, holy are you!
Rejoice and be glad!
Yours is the Kingdom of God!

Today the Church throughout the world
celebrates the feast of All Saints.

We remember the crowd that is so vast
that no one could count them.

We rejoice with those who have survived the period of great distress,
those who have washed their robes and made them white
in the blood of the Lamb.

Rejoice and be glad!
Blessed are you, holy are you!

Today we rejoice with those who are the children of God,
and though we do not know what their lives are like now,
we know that they are more than we can hope or imagine.

Rejoice and be glad!
Yours is the Kingdom of God!

Today we rejoice with all those who have been called blessed,
the poor in spirit,
those who mourn,
the meek and those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
the merciful and the clean of heart,
the peacemakers and those who are persecuted for sake of righteousness.

Rejoice and be glad!
Blessed are you, holy are you!
Rejoice and be glad!
Yours is the Kingdom of God!

Today we rejoice with all those saints who have never been canonized,
all those holy men and women whose lives will never be written about,
all those people who’ve made it to heaven
but will never have an icon, a statue or a stain glass window
made to commemorate what they have said and done.
Today we rejoice with those saints we have known,
those who passed the faith on to us,
those who loves us with a love beyond all telling,
those who taught us how to live and love and do good things.

Rejoice and be glad!
Blessed are you, holy are you!
Rejoice and be glad!
Yours is the Kingdom of God!

Today we rejoice,
because one day
we will be counted among them.
One day, November 1 will be our feast day,
and whether or not anyone remembers us,
God will not only remember us,
but will welcome us to that heavenly banquet
where patriarchs and prophets,
apostles, disciples and evangelists,
martyrs and leaders of the Church
will gather with ordinary saints
like you and me.

Today we rejoice
because by the grace of God
we will one day be counted among the saints of God.

Rejoice and be glad!
Blessed are you, holy are you!
Rejoice and be glad!
Yours is the Kingdom of God!
